Youth Commission Meeting

2. Old business
Senior breakfast was a success with five seniors and parents attending, Keith Kern cooked a wonderful breakfast and Harry Mosley was the guest speaker.
A. Fundraisers for World Youth Day, July 25-31 entertain ideas, suggestions:
Are we going to go to Poland? If so, the following items need to be addressed for the next meeting. the trip is only fourteen months away and a informational packet needs to be compiled for the students and their families. there will be an announcement made in the bulletin and website to see how many students are interested in the trip.
-Travel documents: passports and visas- Donna Evitts is going to acquire passport information.
- Safety tips for Americans-
- Emergency contacts
- Touring /site seeing-Julie Durr and Christy Holmes will look into site seeing options.
- Transportation while in Europe: Air travel, Euro-rail, ground transportation
- Lodging -Mary Gabby will check into lodging and trip paperwork from other trips.
B. Plan for summer activities – youth suggestions:

16. Alpaca farm in Herrin
17, Miner game and Christian concert, Royal Taylor for $20.00 a person on July 18th.-YES

A. Inviting new youth committee members to join
B. Sunday Night Youth Ministry – invite to “Adult Life Educator”
C. Knights of Columbus – want to get youth involved with a garden project at KC Hall. “Plant a seed”
D. Youth Group to Wednesday May 20, end of year party… May the 20th is the end of the year party for the PSR children. Invite them to go to SI Bowl for a getting to know you outing on June 1, at 6pm.
E. March for Life in Washington D.C. (January). There is concern about the students being absent from school.
F. Suggestion for Youth Leader

Fund raising ideas: rib sale during July 4th, 50/50 raffle,pasta lunch, Larry's House of Cakes gift cards, cruise, motorcycle I've always, date night packages, Cardinals weekend, Submit donations by May 23rd to Fernando.
Johnston City youth needs to be invited to our youth group activities.
Rosie Gribble volunteered to make contact phone calls to our youth.
Sheila Dingrando will be the contact person for the Assessment Committee and the YM.
