- St Joseph- KC Oktoberfest- The Oktoberfest has been postponed until next year. The reason for the postponement of the event was due to time concerns to plan the Oktoberfest.
- Update on Glenmary Missioner Project- Brother Jason came to visit St. Joseph and St. Paul Parish Communities during the week of July 26-30. The visit was a success. Between both parishes, $1,061 was raised for his projects. We also loaned him materials from previous bible studies that were done at St. Joseph and he will use them for his prison ministry. Also discussed during his visit was the possibility of an angel tree project. Since then, Br. Jason has been in contact with the Ad Hoc Committee to let them know that something like collecting backpacks, school supplies, hygiene products, socks, underwear, gifts cards, etc for Christmas, would be a more worthwhile endeavor. By the New Year, the children are in need of all these items again. The committee met and discussed all of these things and has decided to move forward with a “Backpack Santa Project.” This will be a project that will include both communities and it will probably take place during October. Conversation has taken place that perhaps these Backpacks can be taken in the fall to Br. Jason. Discussion on the possibilities of a Mission Trip to Blakely between June 16-23 would involve adults and youth. Youth would work on VBS during June 17-22 and adults would work on renovations of their community gymnasium project. Brother Jason has fifteen kids in the after school program and he has room for nine more. We are also thinking of doing a childrens collection during weekend Masses hope to keep the Glenmary mission in our thoughts during offertory.
